U.S. AMATEUR BANDON DUNES

120th United States Amateur Championship, Bandon Dunes, Bandon, OR

30 mph sustained winds, the thickest fog you’ve ever golfed in, a ton of sand blasts and penalty drops - it was golf the Bandon way. As Mike Keiser, David McLay-Kidd and many others look on, the best amateurs in the world battled for the US Amatuer trophy in one of the best golf settings in all the world. Folks that have been blessed to visit Bandon Dunes know that weather can, and will be a factor at some point. For the practice rounds and first several days of the event, the wind HOWLED. And didn’t let up, until the weekend. And with just a few holes to go, and temps rising, the fog rolled in for a dramatic finish on the 36th hole of the championship match on Sunday.
